Get on the Truck! Building Creative Confidence with the SparkTruck Team

Two Week Workshop

Interested in learning more about the junction of K-12 education, the Maker movement, and design thinking? Want to use a 3D printer, laser cutter and other high tech maker tools? Eager to use your hands to build things out of popsicle sticks and googley eyes? Excited to explore ways to bring these tools and materials (and maker mindsets) to local kids?

Climb aboard the SparkTruck, a mobile maker lab for kids, designed to inspire creative, hands-on learning and problem-solving, while having fun and making stuff!

Join us! In four evenings and one Saturday you will: learn how to operate the tools on the truck; experience our workshops and learn how to facilitate them; read, watch, and discuss some of the most compelling ideas in this developing arena; and play at the intersection of design thinking and the maker movement—all the while gaining empathy for how kids develop social, emotional, and hands-on skills.

Stellar students will have the opportunity to be further trained and on-boarded to take the SparkTruck on the road to local schools and after-school programs to spread the joys, struggles and inspiration of making by design.

Enrollment limited to 12 students. Applications close Sep. 23 @ 11:59pm. In your application, please indicate any previous experience working with kids. Apply here:
