Out of the Lab: Design Thinking for Scientists and Engineers in the Real World

Turn your research into a product or service

Fall 2016
September 7, 8, 9, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Studio 1

This 3 day class is for graduate students who want to explore the potential of their research outside of the lab. This is a chance to develop your entrepreneurial and design-thinking skills and change your perspective from research to embracing the needs of users and customers. This class is for a small group of participants who will share and collaborate with each other in a series of group exercises and presentations.   Our goal is for students to develop the skills to expand the impact of their work to a broad and diverse community beyond their research environment.
