Frederik G. Pferdt
Frederik is the Head of Innovation & Creativity Programs at Google and leads a talented team which catalyzes 10x thinking at Google by building a thriving innovation environment.
He is co-founder of “The Garage”, Google’s hacker/designer/maker space and was nominated as a visiting scholar at the Center for Design Research (d.school), Stanford University and research scholar at EdLab, Columbia University. As the founder of LearningDesign:Lab, he created award-winning human-centered design experiences for various groups — from kindergartners, to teachers, to CEOs.
At Stanford, he feels lucky to see people being empowered through user-centered, prototype-driven design so that they can do cool things that matter in the world.
Teaching d.thinking tonic or Creativity & Innovation at the d.school, he gets close to his greatest satisfaction – assembling multidisciplinary teams in a flexible space and providing an environment where they can find confidence in their creativity and innovate like crazy.
He currently lives in Silicon Valley with his wife and is drawing inspiration from his son’s “child’s mind” and playfulness. As a true explorer of life, Frederik rarely does things twice to keep discovering new things everyday. So far, he has done only one thing twice, which he is very proud of. Ask him about it
