Senior Learning Experience Designer, K12Lab
David Clifford builds irresistible learning environments that allow students and teachers to discover and engage with their purpose in the world. A maker, teacher and advocate for social justice, he was a founding member of East Bay School for Boys, a middle school in Berkeley empowering the thoughtful, courageous and engaged men of tomorrow. Before that, David held numerous roles in his 13 years at Lick-Wilmerding High School in San Francisco: Technical Arts department chair, metal fabrications teacher and a founding member of several programs at Lick: The Center for Civic Engagement, Philanthropy Initiative, Senegal Service Learning Project and Private Skills for Public Purpose.
A long time fan of the d.school, David dove deep into the d as a fellow in 2014 building design school x, a new scalable high school model aiming to build in students (and teachers) the agency to affect change, agility to seek out and navigate complex dilemmas and access to one’s purpose and character.
David is currently a senior learning experience designer in the K12Lab working with d.home schools and the ReImagining High School initiative.
